Simba head coach Steve Barker says the team’s training camp in Polokwane, South Africa, has provided excellent conditions that meet international standards and give the players everything they need for their preparations.
Barker said the quality of the facilities and training pitches has enabled the team to train in a calm environment while focusing on key areas of their preparations for the season.
“Their pitches are of international standard, and we are getting everything we need here.”
The South African coach said Simba needed a camp of this nature because they did not have a complete pre-season, meaning their time in Polokwane is mainly focused on improving the players’ fitness and working on various technical areas.
“We needed an environment like this because, remember, we did not have a complete pre-season. So we needed this kind of environment to improve the players’ fitness and work on important areas,” Barker said.
Barker Praises Mo Dewji
Barker also praised Simba President Mohamed Dewji ‘Mo’ for facilitating the conditions for the team’s preparations, saying the camp could help them make up for what the team lacked at the start of the season.
According to the coach, good training conditions are an important part of ensuring that players continue to build their fitness and prepare properly for the challenges ahead.
