Simba striker Ibrahim Doumbia arrived in Polokwane, South Africa, yesterday to join his teammates in preparations for the Mainland Premier League clash against Yanga, as well as other league and CAF Champions League matches scheduled to resume after the FIFA international break.
Simba fans continue to have high hopes for the striker, who since joining the Msimbazi side has yet to give supporters the chance to celebrate his first competitive goal.
In a show of support, some fans in Dar es Salaam held a special prayer session recently, praying for the striker to regain his scoring form.
Sometimes there are things that happen behind the scenes. Doumbia arrived at Simba with an impressive record from last season in the Malian league, where he scored approximately 23 goals across all competitions.
However, things have been different since his arrival at Msimbazi. He has struggled to find the back of the net despite continuing to receive the trust and opportunities of head coach Steve Barker.
Perhaps when the league resumes, Simba fans can expect to see a different Doumbia.
