Simba SC have issued an explanation regarding the delay in the start of ticket sales for the traditional rivals’ clash between Simba and Yanga, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
In a public statement issued on the night of October 7, Simba explained that although the ticket prices for the Kariakoo Derby had been officially announced, ticket sales had not yet begun at the time the statement was released.
New Ticket Sales System
Simba explained that the club currently has no direct authority over the availability and operation of the ticketing system for matches organised under the TFF/TPLB, unlike in previous seasons.
Simba said the TFF had announced a tender to select a ticketing service provider, with the process of selecting the successful bidder having been completed. However, Simba said that at the time, the club’s management had yet to receive full details about the provider and how the new system would be implemented.
The situation has caused uncertainty among fans, particularly with only a short time remaining before the highly anticipated match.
Fans Have Been Waiting for Tickets
Simba said the delay in ticket sales has increased pressure and raised questions among fans eager to secure their places to watch the Kariakoo Derby.
The club added that, according to the information available to it, tickets for matches being played on October 8 and 9 had already gone on sale, further increasing pressure and uncertainty among fans over tickets for the Kariakoo Derby.
Simba Working to Find a Solution
In the statement, Simba said it had made efforts to establish the latest developments regarding the ticketing system that would be used for the match.
According to the statement, the club’s aim is to find a quick solution that will allow the match to proceed while reducing complaints from fans, especially with only two days remaining before the Kariakoo Derby.
Simba also urged fans to remain patient as the club’s management continues to await guidance from TFF/TPLB regarding ticket sales.
“We ask all fans to remain patient while the Club Management awaits guidance from TFF/TPLB regarding ticket sales and the proposals we have submitted,” part of the statement read.
