Simba SC, the Msimbazi Reds, strengthened their position at the top of the league table with a resounding 6-1 victory over Mashujaa FC in an NBC Premier League match played today at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The victory marked the second time Simba have claimed a win at Uhuru Stadium, following their 2-1 triumph over Yanga SC in the previous Kariakoo Derby. The results underline the Reds’ impressive form this season under head coach Steve Barker.
Simba’s goal fest began as early as the 16th minute through lively winger Libasse Gueye, before Elie Mpanzu added the second goal in the 33rd minute to send Simba into half-time with a 2-0 lead.

The second half began at a high tempo, with Simba looking even hungrier for goals. Attacking midfielder Anicet Oura scored the third in the 53rd minute, before Elie Mpanzu struck again in the 58th minute to complete his brace.

Mashujaa FC tried to break free from Simba’s pressure and managed to pull one goal back in the 64th minute through their striker, Selemani Bwenzi.
However, Mashujaa’s celebrations were short-lived, as midfielder Morice Abraham found the net in the 61st minute, while towering defender Ismael Olivier Toure completed the goal fest with Simba’s sixth goal in the 68th minute.
With this victory, Simba SC have firmly established themselves at the top of the NBC Premier League standings with 24 points, having won all eight of their matches this season while displaying attractive, high-quality football.
