On Tuesday, October 20, Simba will take on 15 de Agosto at Uhuru Stadium in the first leg of their CAF Champions League (CAFCL) qualifying tie, with a place in the group stage at stake.
The first of the two matches that will determine which team advances to the group stage is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 p.m.
This will be the first time Simba face the Equatorial Guinea champions, but for head coach Steve Barker, it will not be a new experience.
Last season, while coaching Stellenbosch before joining Simba, Barker faced 15 de Agosto in the CAF Confederation Cup at the same second-round qualifying stage, with a place in the group stage on the line.
In the first leg, played in South Africa, Stellenbosch secured a 4-1 victory. The return leg away from home ended in a goalless draw, allowing Stellenbosch to progress to the group stage.
This time, Barker will face the same team again, but now with Simba in the Champions League, with both matches scheduled to be played at Uhuru Stadium.
Barker said there is limited information available about 15 de Agosto, meaning his team must approach the encounters with great caution, despite having the advantage of playing both matches at home.
