Simba Announce January 3, 2027, Election Date as Leadership Nomination Process Begins October 30

Simba SC have officially announced the schedule for their general leadership elections, which are set to take place on January 3, 2027, with the collection of nomination forms for various leadership positions beginning on October 30, 2026.

The schedule was announced by Simba's Electoral Committee during a press conference held earlier today. The committee outlined all stages of the election process, from the collection and submission of nomination forms and candidate verification to objections, the campaign period and election day.

Simba Electoral Committee Chairman Anderson Msumba said the purpose of the press conference was to inform club members and stakeholders about the entire election process.

"The committee is here before you to explain the entire process, from the announcement and collection of forms to their submission, approval of candidates, campaigns and finally the election, which will take place in January 2027," Msumba said.

Nomination Forms Available from October 30

Explaining the election schedule, Simba Electoral Committee Vice-Chairman Alpha Gervas said members interested in contesting various leadership positions would be able to collect nomination forms from October 30 to November 6, 2026.

He said November 7–11, 2026, would be the period for submitting the completed forms to the committee, after which it would begin reviewing and verifying them to establish which candidates meet the stipulated requirements.

According to the announced schedule, the election process will proceed as follows:

  • October 30 – November 6, 2026: Collection of nomination forms.

  • November 7–11, 2026: Submission of nomination forms to the committee.

  • November 12–14, 2026: Inspection and verification of candidates' forms.

  • November 15, 2026: Announcement of eligible candidates and opening of the objection period.

  • November 17–18, 2026: Submission of objections against candidates.

  • November 19–21, 2026: Review of objections and preparation of summons for the parties involved.

  • November 23–25, 2026: Hearings on objections.

  • November 26–27, 2026: Issuing decisions on objections.

  • November 30, 2026: Announcement of the final list of qualified candidates.

Gervas said that once these stages are completed, election campaigns will begin on December 3, 2026, and continue until January 2, 2027, one day before the general election.

Election Scheduled for January 3, 2027

The committee explained that the election is being conducted in accordance with Simba's 2018 constitution, which was amended in 2025 and registered in February 2026.

According to the information presented at the press conference, Article 26 of the club's constitution stipulates that elections must be held every four years.

The committee also stated that the club's election regulations, together with those of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), require the election announcement and procedures to be issued within 60 days.

Msumba said Simba's last election was held in January 2023, meaning the current leadership's term is approaching its end in January 2027.

Seven Leadership Positions, Including One Reserved for a Woman

During the press conference, Simba Electoral Committee member Richard Mwalibwa outlined the eligibility requirements for members seeking leadership positions, in accordance with Article 27 of the club's constitution.

Mwalibwa said there are seven leadership positions involved, with five to be contested through an election, while the remaining two will be filled through appointments made by the elected chairman.

He explained that candidates for the chairman's position must hold a university degree. Of the five positions contested through elections, at least one must be filled by a woman.

Regarding the other leadership positions, he said the educational requirements vary, with some positions allowing candidates who have completed Form Four.

Mwalibwa added that candidates must be between 25 and 65 years old, be Simba members and have held membership cards for at least three years.

These requirements are expected to guide members who come forward to collect nomination forms and contest the club's various leadership positions.
