The football champions of Tanzania Mainland Yanga have been invited to Malawi for the celebrations of the country's Independence which will be held on July 06 2023
Yanga Information Officer Ali Kamwe has said due to the honor given to them by Malawi, they have had to call the players to the camp to attend the invitation akongside by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan
Kamwe said that 15 first team players will be accompanied by six other players from the youth team
Kamwe said that the invitation is a result of the success that Yanga have achieved in the last two seasons
"We have received a special invitation from the Government of Malawi to play a special game on the 59th anniversary of Malawi's Independence which will be held on July 6, 2023. This is a unique honor for Tanzania and Yanga to be invited to the country's biggest celebration which will bring together the presidents of various countries including the President of Tanzania Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan"
"This invitation is enough to show the size of our club and the respect that we are given abroad. Once again we will go to Malawi on a special plane that will bring us back to the country after the game. For those who were hurt when we traveled by special plane to Algeria, let them be hurt by this ," exclaimed Kamwe
The players are expected to report to camp on Tuesday and the team will leave the country early on Wednesday
