Its honor to play Super League - Kapombe

Simba right defender Shomari Kapombe has said it is a great honor for the players and the club to have the opportunity to participate in the African Football League (Super League) which is being held for the first time in Africa

Simba is among the eight teams that got the chance after doing well in the CAF competitions in the last five years

After the draw for the quarter-final matches took place and Simba were scheduled to play Al Ahly, Kapombe said they have no fear about facing Al Ahly as they have a good record when they meet at home with the giants of African football

"First of all, it is a great honor for the players and the Simba club to have the opportunity to be among the eight biggest teams in Africa to participate in this competition for the first time"

"The match against Al Ahly will be good, in Benjamin Mkapa's stadium our history is good when we meet Al Ahly, we have always been able to beat them"

"We as Simba are preparing to do well in order to move forward in the competition," said Kapombe

Kapombe is one of the players who were in the Simba squad that won all the matches against Al Ahly at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium

Other players are Aishi Manula, Clatous Chama, Mohammed Hussein, captain John Bocco, Mzamiru Yassin and Luis Miquissone who scored the winning goal in the last game that brought the teams together at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium
