Former Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has announced his retirement from football today, Tuesday, December 12
The 39-year-old spent the last two seasons at LAFC and had recently hinted that he could retire after the end of the MLS season
His LAFC team lost the MLS Cup Final on Saturday night. Chiellini scored 36 goals in 561 appearances for Juventus, winning nine Serie A titles, five Supercoppa Italiana and five Coppa Italia titles.
He also reached the Champions League Final twice, in 2015 and 2017. He captained Italy at Euro 2020, won by the Azzurri at Wembley Stadium
Chiellini may return to Juventus after the end of his playing career. His brother Claudio is already part of the club, working as Next Gen
