A panel of five lawyers from HAKI KWANZA ADVOCATE has filed an objection against outgoing Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) President Wallace Karia's bid to run for a third term in office.
The lawyers submitted the objection to the National Sports Council (BMT), challenging Karia's action of securing 46 out of 47 endorsements. The only missing endorsement is from Yanga Sports Club.
The legal team is also contesting a violation of the national sports policy, which outlines term limits for leaders in sports organizations.
According to that policy, leadership positions with four-year terms are limited to two terms, while those with three-year terms are limited to three terms.
Karia has already served two consecutive four-year terms at the helm of TFF, and allowing him to run again would be in violation of the policy, the lawyers argue.
