Singida Black Stars head coach Miguel Gamondi says the Kagame Cup will help him prepare a competitive squad for both league and international matches.
Speaking to *Mwanaspoti*, Gamondi expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparations, noting that his players are in good shape and ready to compete.
“The team is progressing well, although not all players are in camp yet—they are joining us gradually. Expectations are high and most players are ready for competition,” he said, adding:
“I need the full squad in camp to make proper selections. I believe as days go by more players will arrive, and I think this tournament we’ve been given the chance to participate in will give us the right insight.”
Gamondi noted that the Kagame Cup comes at the right time after weeks of training without high-profile friendlies, saying the tournament will allow them to test their strengths and weaknesses in a competitive environment.
“It’s a good tournament that brings together many teams, so we’ll have several matches that will improve the players’ sharpness. Beyond just ball work in training, we need both easy and tough games to assess our weaknesses and strengths,” he said.
The Argentine coach added that the goal is to perform well in the tournament, which he believes will provide valuable preparation for both international assignments and the domestic league.
“We have a strong team filled with great talent and experience… I believe this will be proven on the pitch, and I’m confident this tournament, starting early next month, will give us solid preparations,” Gamondi stressed.
Gamondi took charge of Singida Black Stars after guiding Yanga for two seasons, where he won domestic titles and led them to the CAF Champions League group stage.
