Yanga Gain Boost from Assistant Coach Patrick Mabedi Ahead of Silver Strikers Clash

Yanga SC have already arrived in Malawi ahead of their first-leg CAF Champions League qualifying match against Silver Strikers, as they aim to secure a place in the group stage.

The arrival of assistant coach Patrick Mabedi, a Malawian national, is expected to give Yanga an advantage in preparing for the match since he knows the Silver Strikers team well.

This comes as good news for head coach Romain Folz, whose work in preparing the team has been made easier by Mabedi’s insight and experience.

Folz admitted that he initially had limited information about Silver Strikers, but the arrival of Mabedi has provided him with valuable details about their playing style.

The French tactician revealed that Silver Strikers are particularly strong in midfield, and Yanga must devise a clear plan to neutralize that strength.

“I’ve been informed that Silver Strikers are a young, disciplined team, and their greatest strength lies in midfield,” said Folz.

“To contain them, we need to come up with a strategy to break their midfield dominance. Yanga’s attacking line is well-prepared and determined to force their defense into making mistakes,” he added.

Mabedi has both played and coached at the highest level in Malawi, including serving as head coach of the Malawi national team earlier this year before joining Yanga.
