Tammy Abraham has officially rejoined Aston Villa in a permanent transfer, marking a homecoming for the 28-year-old striker nearly seven years after his breakthrough season with the club.
Abraham, who played for Villa on loan during the 2018–19 Championship season, helped the team secure promotion to the Premier League with 26 goals in 40 appearances, quickly becoming a fan favourite.
The striker has returned from Turkish side Besiktas, who had held his contract after a loan spell from AS Roma. Villa reportedly paid around £18.2 million to secure Abraham’s signature, with teenager Yasin Ozcan potentially moving to Besiktas as part of the agreement.
Abraham brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for Chelsea, Roma, and AC Milan, and he has earned 11 caps for England. This season, he scored consistently for Besiktas, netting 12 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.
Villa manager Unai Emery welcomed Abraham’s return, noting that the striker would add firepower and experience to a squad pushing for top Premier League positions and European qualification.
In an official statement, Abraham said: “I’m back at Aston Villa, ready to work and give everything for the club.” Fans are optimistic that his return will reignite Villa’s attacking threat and bring goals at a crucial stage of the season.
