Valencia Seal Deal for Mali International Aliou Dieng Ahead of New Season

Valencia CF have made significant progress in the transfer market after finalizing an agreement to sign Malian international central midfielder Aliou Dieng, who currently plays for Al Ahly SC of Egypt. Dieng has been identified as part of Valencia’s strategy to strengthen their squad ahead of the new La Liga season.

The 28-year-old midfielder has already undergone a medical assessment overseen by a Valencia club official who traveled to Cairo for the evaluation, confirming the seriousness of the transfer plans.

However, Valencia are yet to officially announce the deal, as Dieng is set to join the Spanish side as a free agent next season after his contract with Al Ahly expires at the end of the current campaign.

Valencia attempted to secure Dieng’s services during the winter transfer window, making a January offer of around €500,000 to Al Ahly in an effort to bring him in immediately. However, the Egyptian giants were unwilling to part with the influential midfielder midway through the season, meaning the move will now materialize once his contract concludes.

Dieng had been unable to agree on a contract extension with Al Ahly, opening the door for his departure on a free transfer. Club sources indicate that the technically strong and experienced midfielder is viewed as an ideal addition to reinforce Valencia’s midfield for the upcoming season.
