The Executive and Management Committee of the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), in its meeting on March 26, 2026, reviewed league developments and incidents, issuing the following decisions:

NBC Premier League

Match 85: Pamba Jiji FC 1-1 Simba SC

  • Simba SC has been fined Sh. 10,000,000 (ten million) for its fans throwing water bottles at match officials as they left the pitch after the game.
  • This marks the second incident in two months, as on February 25, 2026, Simba fans threw water bottles at Dodoma Jiji player William Edgar during a match at Jamhuri Stadium, Dodoma.
  • The sanction is issued under Rule 47:1 of the Premier League Regulations regarding club discipline, taking into account repeat offenses.

Match 110: TRA United FC 0-0 Young Africans SC

  • TRA United of Tabora has been fined Sh. 500,000 (five hundred thousand) for having more than five yellow cards shown to their players in a single match, as six cards were issued in total.
  • The sanction is issued under Rule 47:10 of the Premier League Regulations regarding club discipline.

Match 126: Mtibwa Sugar FC 1-1 Young Africans SC

  • Young Africans player Djigui Diarra has been suspended for three (3) matches and fined Sh. 2,000,000 (two million) for assaulting the central referee after the match at Jamhuri Stadium, Dodoma, under Rule 41:5(5.3) of the Premier League Regulations regarding player discipline.
  • Diarra has also been fined an additional Sh. 2,000,000 (two million) for showing a middle finger while leaving the pitch after the match, an act constituting insult and contempt under Rule 41:5(5.4).
  • These sanctions are in accordance with Rule 41:5 of the Premier League Regulations on player discipline.

Decisions Regarding Referees:

  • Center referee Gilbert Mrina from Kilimanjaro has been demoted for failing to take appropriate action against Djigui Diarra’s misconduct, as outlined in Rule 42:1(1.6). This is a repeat offense, as Mrina had previously been suspended for three matches following a similar incident in Match 65 (Mbeya City vs Namungo).
  • Assistant referee No. 2, Abdulaziz Ally from Arusha, has been suspended for five (5) matches for failing to correctly interpret the Laws of the Game. In the 36th minute, he incorrectly raised his flag for offside when Young Africans player Emmanuel Mwanengo received a pass from Pacome Zouzoua, although there was no offside. The sanction is issued under Rule 42:1(1.8).
