Today, the Legal and Players’ Status Committee of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) convened to hear a case filed by Simba SC against Yanga player Mohamed Damaro, questioning the validity of his registration.
According to reports, Simba responded to the committee’s summons and presented their arguments, emphasizing that Damaro’s registration did not follow the proper procedures under TFF regulations and FIFA’s international guidelines.
Simba claimed that Damaro was registered as a local player without adhering to the correct procedures, raising questions about the legitimacy of his inclusion in the league.
Simba lawyer, Advocate Hosea Chamba, confirmed that Simba attended the hearing, while neither Damaro nor Yanga provided reasons for their absence.
Chamba stated that the committee heard only Simba’s arguments and will review the case before issuing its decision at a later date.
Despite not attending the hearing, Yanga maintain their position that all TFF procedures were properly followed in registering Damaro, and that TFF authorized him to represent the club in national competitions.
