Barcelona’s hopes of a comeback suffered a major setback in the 80th minute when Eric García was sent off with a red card, forcing them to finish the match with ten men and reducing their chances of equalizing.
Under coach Diego Simeone, Atlético displayed strong tactical discipline and held on to the result until the final whistle, maintaining their impressive home record in knockout matches.
