Steve Barker Praises Simba SC Performance After 4-0 Win Over Tanzania Prisons

The Head Coach of Simba SC, Steve Barker, has expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance following a dominant 4-0 victory over Tanzania Prisons S.C.in a Tanzanian Premier League match played at the KMC Complex.

This was Simba’s first match at the new venue since shifting their home games from the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, a move that appears to have brought positive changes to the team.

Speaking after the match, Barker said the quality of the pitch at the KMC Complex helped his players execute their tactical plan effectively, adding that his squad is increasingly understanding his coaching philosophy.

He said:

"We played on a good pitch that didn’t have many bumps, and that helped us a lot. We started the match well, controlled it with strength and high intensity."

The coach added that the goals scored were a result of strong teamwork and good football, while Simba also managed to limit their opponents’ chances.

"The goals we scored were deserved based on how we played. We controlled the match and made it difficult for the opponents to create chances," said Barker.

However, he emphasized that despite the big win, he is still focused on the demanding schedule ahead, highlighting the importance of managing player fitness due to a congested fixture list.

"Sometimes you want more goals, but you also have to manage energy. We have many matches in the coming days, so we needed to be careful," he added.

Following the victory, Simba will travel to Kigoma to face Mashujaa FC at the Lake Tanganyika Stadium before returning to Dar es Salaam for a CRDB Cup quarter-final match against TRA United.
