Yanga Confirm Successful Surgery for Injured Pacome Zouzoua

Yanga Communications Manager Ali Kamwe has provided an update on the condition of midfielder Pacome Zouzoua, who suffered a serious injury during the NBC Premier League match against JKT Tanzania at Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium.

Yanga went on to win the match 3-0, securing their fifth consecutive league title. However, Pacome’s injury cast a shadow over the celebrations for the Wananchi.

Speaking to the media earlier today, Kamwe confirmed that Pacome was rushed to Agha Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam, where doctors, in consultation with the club’s medical staff, decided that he required immediate surgery.

"Our player Pacome Zouzoua, after being taken off the pitch yesterday with the help of the ambulance, was immediately taken to Agha Khan Hospital."

"Because of the severity of his injury, he was taken straight to the emergency department where doctors at Agha Khan and our club doctors agreed that the injury should not be delayed in receiving treatment."

"After discussions, the management gave approval for Pacome Zouzoua to undergo surgery yesterday. We thank God that the operation was successfully completed at around 8 p.m."

"According to the medical report, he will be under observation for six weeks following the surgery. After that period, the club will be in a position to provide a clearer timeline for his recovery."

"I know many Yanga fans experienced mixed emotions yesterday. We were happy to defend our title, but deep inside we were saddened because one of our soldiers, who has given 100% since joining the club, suffered such an injury."

"It was very painful. At halftime there were tears in the dressing room. I would also like to commend Salum Aboubakar 'Sure Boy' who played a big role in motivating and calming the players so they could return in the second half and finish the job," Kamwe said.
