With the 2025/26 NBC Premier League season now complete, Simba have turned their full attention to the CRDB Federation Cup final as they aim to end the campaign with silverware.
Simba Communications Manager Ahmed Ali said the players, technical staff, and club leadership are fully committed to delivering victory and giving the club’s supporters a reason to celebrate by defeating Azam FC in the final.
The decisive match is scheduled to be played on Saturday, July 4, at Gombani Stadium in Pemba, with kickoff set for 11:00 p.m.
Speaking after Simba’s 1-0 victory over KMC in their final league match, Ahmed said that although the team performed consistently well throughout the season, they fell short in the title race due to what he described as human errors by match officials.
He added that Simba supporters understand the team gave everything in the fight for the league championship, and that the focus has now shifted to winning the CRDB Federation Cup to make up for the disappointment of missing out on the league title.
"We have already told the players that we missed out on the Premier League title for the fifth time. This time, we are not dwelling on it too much because there were many controversies."
Ahmed stressed that there is no room for excuses in the final, urging the players to give everything for the Simba badge and their supporters.
"We are going into the CRDB Cup with no excuses. Let's go out there, fight for the Simba badge, and fight for the happiness of Simba fans."
He also said the players have been inspired by the faith shown by the club’s supporters throughout the season and are determined to reward that loyalty with a trophy.
"Our players understand what is at stake. They are ready to give everything on the pitch for the happiness of Simba fans. Everyone knows that our mission is to bring home the CRDB Cup."
Simba now head into the final determined to finish the season with a trophy, believing that victory over Azam FC would be the perfect reward for their loyal supporters.
