Singida Black Stars (Singida BS) are in the final stages of completing the signing of Pamba Jiji striker Mathew Tegis, a Kenyan international, as they look to strengthen their attacking department ahead of the new season.
Sources close to the transfer process indicate that Singida BS and Pamba Jiji have already reached an agreement over the transfer fee for the forward, who impressed last season as one of Pamba’s key players.
Tegis finished as Pamba Jiji’s top scorer last season, scoring 11 goals in the Tanzania Premier League. His goal-scoring ability made him one of the few forwards to surpass the 10-goal mark during the campaign.
Singida BS searching for Mossi’s replacement
The signing of Tegis appears to be part of Singida BS’s plans to prepare for the possible departure of their star striker, Mossi Ndumumwe.
Ndumumwe ended last season as the Tanzania Premier League’s top scorer after netting 17 goals, playing a crucial role in Singida BS’s attacking success.
If Ndumumwe leaves the club, Singida BS will need another reliable goal-scoring option capable of carrying the responsibility of finding the net, making their pursuit of Tegis an important step in their plans.
