Al Hilal winger Jean Giramugisha was named the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League Player of the Year during the league's annual awards ceremony held last night. The Rwandan international earned the prestigious honor after an outstanding campaign, establishing himself as one of the league's most influential performers.
His impressive displays have attracted strong interest from several clubs, with Yanga SC reportedly among the frontrunners for his signature. In addition to the Tanzanian champions, Giramugisha is also said to be on the radar of clubs outside Africa, including Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon, who are impressed by his versatility in attack, pace, creativity, and ability to make an impact in the final third.
Giramugisha is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Al Hilal, allowing him to negotiate with any interested club. However, the winger is expected to feature for Al Hilal in the upcoming CECAFA Kagame Cup before making a final decision on the next chapter of his career.
