Young Africans SC (Yanga) have officially been cleared by FIFA after the world football governing body lifted the club's transfer ban, allowing the Tanzanian champions to register new players ahead of the 2026/27 season. The decision follows Yanga's compliance with all FIFA requirements regarding a financial dispute that had led to the sanction.
Yanga were placed under a transfer ban after failing to meet financial obligations arising from a dispute that was escalated to FIFA. During the ban, the club was prohibited from registering any new players until it fulfilled the conditions imposed by the governing body.
After settling the outstanding debt and complying with FIFA's directives, Yanga have now been officially removed from FIFA's list of clubs barred from registering players. The decision marks a major boost for the Tanzanian champions, who can now proceed with their transfer plans without restrictions.
The lifting of the ban comes as Yanga continue rebuilding their squad under head coach Manqoba Mngqithi. The club has already been linked with several potential signings, including Ivorian left-back Samba Koné, along with other players reportedly on the club's shortlist.
With the restriction now lifted, Yanga are expected to accelerate their recruitment before the transfer window closes as they aim to assemble a competitive squad capable of defending domestic honours and making a strong impact in next season's CAF Champions League.
