Egyptian club Pyramids FC have officially appointed South African coach Rulani Mokwena as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Mokwena takes over with an impressive coaching résumé, having established himself as one of Africa's brightest young tacticians. He enjoyed significant success with Mamelodi Sundowns, leading the club to domestic titles while earning praise for his attractive, possession-based style of football.
He later moved to Wydad Athletic Club in Morocco, where he continued to build his experience at the highest level of African football. His appointment comes as Pyramids FC continue to strengthen their ambitions of competing for major honours both domestically and on the continental stage.
The club's management believes Mokwena's tactical expertise, leadership qualities, and ability to develop talented players will help the team maintain its competitiveness in the Egyptian Premier League and CAF competitions.
