President of the Tanzania Football Federation, Wallace Karia, has revealed that there is a 75% chance that the Video Support system will be introduced in the Tanzania Premier League for the 2026/27 season.
He explained that discussions with a Portuguese company recommended by CAF and FIFA are at an advanced stage, while Tanzanian referees have already begun training on how to use the system.
Karia said Video Support is a more affordable technology than VAR, allowing coaches to request reviews of key match incidents through a designated signal, after which the referee will be required to review the footage.
Each match will have four review requests available to ensure the system is used efficiently without causing unnecessary interruptions to the game.
