Attacking midfielder Neo Maema is now only a matter of time away from being officially unveiled as a Simba SC player after beginning his journey back to Tanzania to rejoin the Msimbazi Reds.
Maema is expected to arrive soon as Simba SC complete the final steps of bringing back the star, who was an important part of the team's squad last season.
Simba have reached an agreement to sign Maema on a season-long loan from South African club Mamelodi Sundowns, allowing the midfielder to return to Msimbazi for a second spell.
After his previous contract ended at the conclusion of last season, Maema returned to South Africa where he held talks with his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns. The discussions resulted in the club offering him a new two-year contract.
However, after negotiations between both sides, Mamelodi Sundowns agreed to loan Maema to Simba SC so he could continue his duties with the Msimbazi Reds.
Maema's return is part of Simba's plans to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, with his comeback reportedly recommended by head coach Steve Barker, who believes the midfielder's qualities can add more creativity and attacking strength to the team.
