Tanzanian forward Selemani Mwalimu has officially returned to Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club (Wydad AC) following the expiry of his one-season loan spell at Simba SC. The striker has already rejoined Wydad's squad and resumed training as the club prepares for the 2026/27 season, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
His return comes after negotiations between Simba SC and Wydad AC over extending the loan deal failed to reach an agreement. Reports indicated that the talks collapsed due to payment-related issues and the failure to complete the required administrative procedures before the agreed deadline.
During his time at Simba SC, Mwalimu made a significant impact in attack and became a fan favourite thanks to his impressive performances. He now resumes his duties with Wydad AC, while Simba are expected to look for a replacement as they prepare for the upcoming domestic and continental campaigns.
