Singida Black Stars have officially completed the signing of Nigerian attacking midfielder Henry David from Fountain Gate FC.
David was part of the Singida Black Stars squad that competed in the recent CECAFA Kagame Cup in Kigali, Rwanda, where he was on trial before earning a permanent contract.
The decision to sign the midfielder came after he impressed with his performances, winning over both the club's supporters and the technical bench led by new head coach Papy Kimoto.
During the CECAFA Kagame Cup, David delivered a standout performance against Somalia's Mogadishu City, scoring twice in a 4-1 victory and earning the Man of the Match award.
Club management said David's pace, creativity in providing key passes, and clinical finishing convinced coach Kimoto to approve the signing as the team strengthens its squad for the new season.
David moved to Tanzanian football from City FC of Abuja, Nigeria, and enjoyed an impressive second half of last season with Fountain Gate FC.
One of his most memorable moments before completing the transfer was scoring against his new club, Singida Black Stars, in a thrilling match that Fountain Gate won 4-3.
The transfer was finalized ahead of the August 15 registration deadline. David is expected to be available for selection on August 14 when Singida Black Stars face his former club, Fountain Gate FC, in the opening match of the new NBC Premier League season.
