Yanga Clarifies FIFA Registration Ban Reports, Confirms Issue Has Been Resolved

Yanga SC has clarified reports circulating on social media claiming that the club had been banned by FIFA from registering players for three transfer windows, explaining that the matter was only a normal technical challenge within the registration system and has already been resolved.

Yanga's Information and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, reassured the club's fans and members, explaining that registration processes involve multiple parties and that digital systems often require joint updates and confirmations to complete player transfers.

FIFA System Challenge

Kamwe explained that modern player registration is conducted through a specialized FIFA system that requires transparency and confirmation from both clubs involved in a player's transfer.

"All registration processes are carried out through the FIFA system, which involves more than one party in completing the entire process," Kamwe said.

He added: "When we sign a player to join our team, we enter all the information and documents into the system, including the contract and payment details made to the player and their club. The club that sold us the player is also required to confirm the contract and payment information in the system."

Another Club Delayed the Process

The spokesperson explained that the misunderstanding arose because the club Yanga conducted the transfer business with delayed confirming receipt of the payment documents in the system, causing FIFA's platform to indicate that there was an issue.

"If one party delays the process, the FIFA system will detect that there is a challenge. One of the clubs had not confirmed the payment documents that we had uploaded, which led to the misunderstanding that occurred," Kamwe explained.

He added that Yanga's status as a major club often causes minor issues to attract significant attention in the media and on social platforms.

"Perhaps because Yanga is a big club, this matter was taken as something very serious. Every day Yanga is said to be banned from signing players, every day Yanga signs players, and every day Yanga becomes champions."

Kamwe assured football stakeholders that the matter is now behind them, after the club's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Andre Mtine, took quick action by contacting the concerned club to resolve the issue.

"According to the CEO, the club involved was contacted and confirmed that the payment had been made, meaning the challenge has already been resolved," Kamwe said.

Yanga to Face FC Les Aigles du Congo During Yanga Day

In another development, Kamwe invited fans to turn out in large numbers for the climax of Mwananchi Week on Sunday, where Yanga will play an international friendly match against FC Les Aigles du Congo from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The match is expected to be played at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam at 7:30 PM, where Yanga's new squad will be officially unveiled to supporters.
