Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam is expected to be packed today, August 8, 2026, as Simba SC hosts its annual ‘Simba Day’ festival, featuring a full day of entertainment and football activities.
This year's celebration is historic as it coincides with the 90th anniversary of the founding of the club, one of the oldest and most successful football clubs in Tanzania.
With renovation work ongoing at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, neighboring Uhuru Stadium will host thousands of Simba supporters, popularly known as 'Wanamsimbazi', as they come together to celebrate their club.
Entertainment and Opening Matches
Today's program will feature a series of exciting activities starting early in the morning. The entertainment stage will feature several leading Bongo Flava artists, headlined by Ali Kiba.
Before the main squad unveiling, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy football through special opening matches involving Simba's youth team, Simba B, and the women's team, Simba Queens.
Squad Unveiling and Night's Grand Finale
Following the entertainment and opening matches, the club will officially unveil the new and returning players who will form Simba SC's squad for the 2026/27 competitive season.
The historic festival will officially conclude with a major international friendly match between Simba SC and Kenya Police FC. The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 PM (20:00 HRS).
