Angolan club Petro Atlético have officially announced the signing of former Yanga SC striker Laurindo Aurelio ‘Depu’ in a transfer reportedly worth more than TSh 1 billion to the Tanzanian club.
Depu, who spent approximately six months with Yanga, left Tanzania yesterday for Angola to complete the final formalities of his transfer and join Petro Atlético.
The striker leaves behind an impressive record from his short spell with Yanga, having scored 14 goals and demonstrated his goalscoring ability across various competitions.
Reports indicate that Yanga will receive approximately TSh 1.3 billion from Depu’s sale, giving the club additional financial room to continue strengthening the squad before the transfer window closes.
The decision to sell Depu comes after Yanga strengthened their attacking department with the signings of strikers Cheick Ibrahima Touré, Peter Shalulile and Suleiman Mwalimu.
