Simba Communications and Information Manager Ahmed Ali has reassured the club’s fans about the condition of goalkeeper Djibrilla Kassali, who suffered an injury in their previous NBC Premier League match against Kagera Sugar.
Kassali was unable to continue playing in the 80th minute after suffering a hamstring injury while attempting to deal with a threat on goal.
Ahmed said Kassali underwent preliminary medical examinations which established that the injury is not serious and that he will only require a short period of rest before returning to the squad.
"Last night, Kassali underwent preliminary examinations by our club doctors, who determined that his injury is not very serious."
"He suffered an injury to the hamstring, so he will need a few days to recover before returning to the pitch."
"As a result of the injury, he will miss the upcoming match against Pamba Jiji, but he could be ready to return to the squad after the Pamba Jiji match," said Ahmed.
Second-choice goalkeeper Hussein Abel will be available to start in goal in the upcoming match against Pamba Jiji.
Simba have already arrived in Mwanza and will complete their final preparations tomorrow ahead of Wednesday’s match.
