The father and manager of Israel Patrick Mwemda has come to his son’s defense following allegations linking the player to claims of match-fixing in an NBC Premier League match played last season at Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo in Dar es Salaam.
Mzee Mwemda said he is responsible for protecting his son’s interests and stressed that the matter should be properly investigated so that the truth can be established, rather than judging the player based on unverified allegations.
The player’s father also addressed the issue of Israel Patrick Mwemda’s salary, expressing concern over the player’s financial terms and the way his contractual interests are being handled.
According to Mzee Mwemda, he is closely following his son’s welfare both as a parent and as his manager, insisting that justice and fairness should prevail throughout the process.
The issue has sparked further discussion about players’ working conditions, their financial interests, and how allegations involving match-fixing or match-selling should be handled within Tanzanian football.
