Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has revealed that he has been diagnosed with brief epileptic episodes after collapsing and briefly losing consciousness during two pre-season friendly matches.
The latest incident occurred on Tuesday against Heidenheim, shortly after Musiala came on as a substitute in the second half. It followed another incident on Saturday against RB Leipzig, when he appeared to lose his balance before collapsing on the pitch.
Following the second incident, Musiala reached out to fans on social media and assured them that he was safe, while thanking them for the messages of support he received.
Musiala explained that the episodes are linked to a neurological disorder and said the condition is treatable. He is also receiving treatment from medical specialists and has no immediate concerns about his health and safety.
The midfielder added that Bayern Munich and those close to him continue to support him during this period, while asking fans and the media to respect his privacy and refrain from sharing further details about his personal medical condition.
