Polisi Tanzania started the day with a 2–0 victory over JKT Tanzania, thanks to goals from Kenny Ally and Habib Kyombo. The victory takes Polisi Tanzania to four points from their opening matches, level with Azam FC and one point behind Yanga and Simba.
In the much-anticipated match, Yanga SC recorded a convincing 4–1 victory over Coastal Union. Albert Kangwanda, Max Nzengeli, Mudathir Yahya, and Mohamed Hussein ‘Zimbwe’ scored for Yanga, while Gradi Lassa got Coastal Union’s goal. The victory takes Yanga to six points with a five-goal difference, putting them at the top of the standings.
Azam FC also secured a 2–1 victory over TRA United, with Iddi Nado and Abdul Sopu scoring for Azam, while Ousmane Kamisoko scored for TRA United. After today’s matches, Yanga lead the table with six points and a five-goal difference, followed by Simba SC with six points and a three-goal difference. Singida Black Stars are third with four points, Polisi Tanzania are fourth with four points, while Azam FC complete the top five with four points.
The season is still long, but the battle for the top spot is already heating up.
