Yanga SC Head of Information and Communications, Ally Kamwe, has urged the club’s supporters not to be misled by unofficial reports regarding the status of midfielder Sele Gomez, insisting that the player remains part of the Yanga squad.
Kamwe said the issue surrounding the player’s information on the FIFA Connect system is a technical matter that he cannot discuss in detail, pointing out that the relevant authority on the issue is the Tanzania Mainland Premier League Board spokesperson.
“I cannot deny lies every day,” Kamwe said, stressing that Sele Gomez remains a Yanga player and that his licence is held by the club.
Regarding Gomez’s absence from some of Yanga’s recent matches, Kamwe said the matter is related to technical decisions, with the head coach having the authority to decide whether or not a player is selected.
“Sele is our player. What remains is for the coach to give him an opportunity,” Kamwe said.
Kamwe also urged Yanga supporters to ignore rumours and unverified discussions surrounding the player, insisting that they should continue to recognise Sele Gomez as part of the club’s squad.
The statement is intended to clarify the club’s position on Gomez’s status and ease uncertainty arising from reports circulating on social media and among supporters.
