Yanga strengthened their position at the top of the league standings after beating Fountain Gate 2-0 in a match played at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
Despite playing away from home, Yanga dominated the match for long periods, keeping Fountain Gate on the back foot and forcing them to defend deep.
The Wananchi needed 26 minutes to take the lead through Peter Shalulile, 'Shasha Man', who calmly finished from inside the penalty area after receiving a backheel pass from Stephane Aziz Ki, who marked his return by providing an assist.
The goal sent Yanga into the break with a 1-0 lead. The Wananchi continued to dominate after the restart, with coach Manqoba Mngqithi introducing Mudathir Yahya and Seleman Mwalimu for Cheick Toure and Salum Abubakar 'Sure Boy'.
Yanga doubled their lead in the 76th minute when Mudathir finished from a rebound after Fountain Gate goalkeeper Parapanda had saved Mwalimu's effort.
Shortly before the second goal, Aziz Ki came close to scoring himself, but his long-range effort struck the crossbar and bounced back into play.
The 90 minutes ended with Yanga securing their fifth consecutive victory and further strengthening their position at the top of the league standings.
