Simba SC, the Msimbazi Reds, continued their winning run in the NBC Premier League after beating Geita Gold FC 2-0 in a match played this evening, August 31, 2026, at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The victory earned Simba another three important points and extended their perfect start to the season, with the Reds winning all five of their opening matches.
Simba started the match brightly, attacking the Geita Gold goal from the opening minute. Their efforts paid off in the 21st minute when midfield maestro Clatous Chama opened the scoring after receiving a well-weighted pass from Libasse Gueye on the right.
Although Geita Gold tried to change their approach and launch counterattacks in search of an equaliser, Simba's defence remained solid and dealt with every threat.
The second half began at the same intensity, and Gueye doubled Simba's lead by finishing off a well-worked move created by Nathaniel Chilambo, effectively ending the visitors' hopes of getting back into the match.
Gueye produced an outstanding performance and sparked celebrations among the fans who turned up at the stadium.
The assist was Gueye's fifth of the season, while his goal opened his scoring account and took his total goal contributions to six in five matches for Simba.
He was named Man of the Match, putting himself in strong contention for the Premier League Player of the Month award for August.
