Yanga SC Head of Information and Communications, Ally Shaban Kamwe, has announced that Saturday’s second-leg clash against Gaborone United at Azam Complex will be dedicated to honouring striker Selemani Mwalimu “Gomez”, with the occasion dubbed “Sele Day.”
Kamwe has urged Yanga supporters attending the match to show their love for the forward by copying his style, particularly his beard look, which has become associated with Mwalimu since he scored Yanga’s equaliser against Gaborone United in the first leg in Botswana.
The initiative is aimed at increasing excitement and building momentum ahead of the crucial CAF Champions League encounter, with Yanga seeking a result that will see them progress beyond the preliminary round after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.
