Four Tanzanian clubs are now at the final stage of their bid to qualify for the CAF group stages, with Yanga, Simba, Azam FC and Singida Black Stars set to represent Tanzania in the final qualifying rounds.
In the CAF Champions League, Yanga SC will face Madagascar’s CFFA, while Simba SC will take on 15 de Agosto of Equatorial Guinea. Both teams will need to make the most of the two-legged ties to secure their places in the group stage.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, Azam FC have been drawn against Egypt’s ZED FC, while Singida Black Stars will face Kenya’s Tusker FC. These will also be crucial matches in their respective campaigns to reach the group stage.
The first legs are scheduled to be played between 16–18 October, before the second legs take place between 23–25 October. The teams that successfully overcome this round will qualify for the CAF group stage.
For Tanzania, all eyes will be on the four clubs, with Yanga and Simba fighting for places in the Champions League, while Azam FC and Singida Black Stars carry the country’s flag in the Confederation Cup.
