Simba SC striker Ismail Mgunda has expressed confidence ahead of the Kariakoo Derby against Yanga SC, saying he is 100 percent certain that the Reds of Msimbazi will emerge victorious in the highly anticipated encounter.
Mgunda, one of Simba’s new signings after joining the club from Mashujaa FC, is preparing to feature in his first-ever Kariakoo Derby. Simba signed the forward ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the player expected to strengthen the club’s attacking department.
Speaking about preparations for the match, Mgunda said what he has seen during training, together with the preparations carried out during the team’s training camp in South Africa, has given him confidence in Simba’s ability ahead of the derby.
The Kariakoo Derby between Simba and Yanga is scheduled to be played on October 10, 2026. Simba have travelled to South Africa for a 10-day training camp as part of their preparations for the derby and other competitions during the season.
