Simba SC manager Patrick Rweyemamu says the Msimbazi Reds are continuing with intensive preparations ahead of the Kariakoo Derby against Yanga SC, insisting that the match will be difficult and require maximum concentration from every player. Rweyemamu made the remarks on Sunday, October 4, 2026, while speaking to journalists.
Rweyemamu said Simba have gone through various stages of preparation, including participating in the Kagame Cup in Rwanda, which significantly helped the players prepare for high-level competition. According to the manager, the experience has improved the squad’s physical, tactical and psychological readiness ahead of the major fixture.
Speaking about the remaining time before the derby, Rweyemamu said Simba have only a few final days to prepare and stressed the importance of the players remaining focused on the match. He explained that every stage of preparation is important because of the significance of the derby, which attracts huge attention from supporters of both clubs.
The manager also addressed challenges affecting the team’s preparations, including some players lacking essential travel documents, a situation that could affect the club’s international travel plans. However, he said the challenges have not reduced Simba’s determination to continue preparing carefully.
Rweyemamu emphasized that the management, technical bench and players are working together to ensure Simba are fully prepared for the derby. The Msimbazi Reds are now focused on the Kariakoo showdown, with supporters eagerly waiting to see whether the preparations will produce results over the 90 minutes.
