The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Tanzanian international referee Ahmed Arajiga as the centre referee for an upcoming CAF Champions League match.
The appointment further highlights the growing trust placed by the continental football governing body in Tanzanian referees at the highest levels of international competition.
The match, scheduled for October 17, 2026, will see Sierra Leonean club Star Sport Academy take on Moroccan giants RS Berkane.
In the match, which will be played away in Sierra Leone, Arajiga will not be alone. CAF has appointed an entire officiating team from Tanzania.
The officials are:
- Hamdani Said Ally – Assistant Referee 1 (Line 1)
- Ally Ramadhani – Assistant Referee 2 (Line 2)
- Nasir Siyah – Fourth Official
The appointment comes as Tanzanian referees continue to receive opportunities to officiate international matches, a development that football stakeholders in the country attribute to continued investment and training programmes provided by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Referees Committee.
