Germany’s biggest football showdown, Der Klassiker, ended in a 2-2 draw between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund after Dortmund scored a late equaliser in the 89th minute at the Allianz Arena. The late goal denied Bayern victory in front of their home supporters, while Dortmund demonstrated determination by fighting until the final minutes.
Bayern took the lead through Konrad Laimer in the 38th minute and went into the half-time break with a 1-0 advantage. Earlier, a goal by Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham had been ruled out for offside. However, after the restart, Serhou Guirassy brought Dortmund back into the contest with an equaliser in the 60th minute.
Six minutes later, Dayot Upamecano restored Bayern’s lead in the 66th minute, finishing off a move created by Harry Kane. Bayern appeared to be heading for victory, but Dortmund continued to push forward, and their efforts paid off in the 89th minute when Fábio Silva scored the equaliser to make it 2-2.
The result further underlines the fierce rivalry between two of German football’s biggest clubs.
