Namungo FC defensive midfielder Kapama, popularly known as Cholo, has said Ibrahim Doumbia’s introduction in the second half was one of the key factors behind Simba SC’s comeback and 3-2 victory over his team in an NBC Premier League match played on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Kapama said Doumbia made a significant impact on the game through his ability to control and retain possession, helping Simba increase the pace of their attacks in the second half.
Kapama said he could not directly determine who was better between Doumbia and Elie Mpanzu. However, he stressed that Doumbia made a special contribution to the match, describing him as the player who changed the course of the encounter — a true game-changer.
Doumbia came on in the second half and played a crucial role in Simba’s comeback. He was brought down inside the penalty area, winning a spot-kick that Rushine De Reuck converted to level the score at 2-2. Later, Anicet Oura scored the winning goal in the 89th minute to secure a 3-2 victory for Simba.
Kapama’s remarks have added to the debate surrounding Doumbia’s contribution to the Simba squad, particularly after demonstrating his ability to change the tempo and direction of a match shortly after coming off the bench.
