CD Tenerife have announced the death of their striker, Jesús de Miguel Alameda, with deep sadness. He passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 AM, following severe injuries sustained in a collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper Owono during a match between the two sides.
The incident occurred in stoppage time when De Miguel was involved in a heavy collision with the goalkeeper and lost consciousness on the pitch. Initial reports indicated that the striker had suffered a cardiac arrest, prompting medical staff to immediately perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Following the emergency treatment, De Miguel regained a pulse and began breathing on his own. However, he remained unconscious and was taken to hospital for further medical attention. The match was subsequently suspended with the score at 2-2.
Despite the medical efforts, CD Tenerife have now confirmed that the player has passed away after failing to recover from the severe injuries sustained in the incident.
In an official statement, the club expressed its profound grief, saying that no words could describe the pain they were experiencing or ease the sorrow felt by his family, friends, teammates and the entire Tenerife community.
The player’s family has thanked everyone who offered condolences and showed support during this difficult period, while also requesting privacy as they mourn their loss.
