Ahead of their Kariakoo Derby against traditional rivals Simba SC, Yanga’s management has called on football lovers and fans across the country to turn out in large numbers at the stadium this Saturday to witness the quality and entertainment offered by their team.
The call was made by Yanga SC Director of Membership, Fans and Marketing Ibrahim Samwel on Sunday evening while discussing the club’s preparations for the NBC Premier League clash scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Samwel made the remarks during the launch of the Yanga branch in Kimara Stop Over, where he also officially presented an Accreditation Certificate to the branch’s leadership after it met all the requirements to become an official Yanga branch.
"Anyone who wants to know how good Yanga are should come to the stadium on Saturday," Samwel said confidently in front of Yanga members who attended the launch, expressing his strong belief in the squad ahead of the derby.
There have been negative opinions from some analysts who have played down Yanga’s chances, arguing that the club has little chance of defeating Simba on Saturday.
Samwel said the team remains strong and is continuing with its preparations, with every department fulfilling its responsibilities to ensure they maintain the standards they have established over the past five seasons.
Call for Digital Membership Registration
In another development, Samwel used the occasion to urge Yanga fans, supporters and members across the country to come forward and register in large numbers to become active members of the club.
He stressed that becoming an active member is the right way to support the economic and structural development and growth of their team.
