Yanga Communications and Information Manager Ali Kamwe has confirmed that right-back Yao Kouassi will miss today’s NBC Mainland Premier League match against Mashujaa FC due to an injury.
Kamwe said Yao needs another week to recover before returning to the squad and resuming his duties.
However, the good news for the Wananchi is that goalkeeper Djigui Diarra has fully recovered and is ready to return to action.
Diarra suffered back pain that kept him out of action for approximately one week.
"The squad is ready. There are a few injury concerns, but the players are prepared, apart from Yao Kouassi and Duke Abuya."
"Yao is still not fully fit and will need another week before returning. Meanwhile, our goalkeeper Diarra, who missed the previous matches, has recovered and is ready to resume his duties," Kamwe said.
Yanga fans could also see Stephane Aziz Ki return to the squad today after completing his suspension following a red card. However, Mudathir Yahya will be unavailable as he begins serving his suspension for the red card he received in the previous match.
