Chelsea deserved the victory, although they missed several great chances before Raheem Sterling scored after 43 minutes, beating Dortmund goalkeeper Alexander Meyer after unleashing a powerful shot.

The second goal that ensured Chelsea reached the quarter-finals came from a penalty kick in the 53rd minute, Kai Havertz scoring after repeating the shot twice
