The former striker of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs, Emmanuel Adebayor has announced his retirement from football at the age of 39
While in England, Adebayor played for Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Crystal Palace. He scored 97 Premier League goals throughout Spurs, Arsenal and Man City.
The forward had a good time at his other clubs, winning the African Footballer of the Year award in 2008 while at Arsenal.]
He was also crowned Togo's best footballer of the year for five consecutive years between 2005 and 2009.
Adebayor was on the Togo team bus that was attacked by terrorists in 2010 when the team was heading to Angola for the AFCON championship.
Three people were killed and nine people were injured in the attack. Adebayor spent most of his years in England, but also enjoyed life in France with Metz and Monaco early in his career.
He also served for the Spanish giants, Real Madrid in 2011. The last time the attacker was with the Semasi team in his country Togo.
